: Hi all.,

: Will the foot brace stand up to occassional surf (as I live in Oz, there is a

John,

I just drilled my holes out yesterday for my foot brace rail. I've been very impressed with the strength of Ash. That is the wood I'm using.

My combing lip is made of ash, it is around 3mm thick. It is not coated in fiberglass, but has two coats of epoxy on it. I've sat on it a few times and held my self off the deck by the lip, with most of my weight on it. The rail in nick's book should be stronger than my combing lip.
