Wondering if someone with more expertise than me would take a look at the plan for making the gunwales for the East Arctic Kayak on www.arctickayak.com then go to the Do it Yourself East Arctic Kayak banner and ponder how you are supposed to go from 3.5" to 4" when scarfing the two peices together. He does not say anything about any shaping on the bottom of the gunwales. Also, does it look like a fair curve between the 6' mark and the 21'3" markor does it look like there is a slight dip(for lack of proper terminology)between the 11' and 17' marks?I have attempted to contact both Chris Cunningham and the author of this page,David Zimmerly, to no avail.Any opinions are appreciated.Anyone out there who is willing to make a full size pattern for them?
