Good advice - all of it. Thanks.
I bought a roll of tape from RAKA so I'm going to go ahead and use it. It wets out really easily, even that derned edge. I've laid down two test pieces of tape, one with the edge left on and one where I cut it off after the epoxy got tacky. The piece with the edge left on has a higher bump, for sure, but it's not sharp and doesn't have strings fraying. The one that I cut the edge off of does have strings so the edge isn't a neat straight line and it's very sharp. I'll try sanding both down and see how difficult each is and which I like better.
But I think I'll go ahead and flip the boat over and start sanding and getting it ready to glass. That means I have to get the decorative and naming elements taken care of though.
