: There's skin on frame traditional and modern. Modern having plywood hull
: shapes motticed in to a frame. Here a bulkhead would be easy.

How So ? Are you suggesting that a solid cross section be glued somehow to the skin wherever the two intersect ? I specifically make my cross sections concave between the chines to reduce the possibility of their being contact between the skin and the cross section. Perhaps I'm simply not seeing your solution correctly.

: I consider skin on frame a much more dangerous craft especially in the cold
: water (even with float bags) for that reason. An enormous amount of water
: enters the craft even with the bags and it's hard to drain.

Why does your skin on frame kayak leak so much water ? My non folding SOF's are Nylon/Hypalon/Neoprene and leak only through the spray skirt, the same amount as my Woodstrip kayaks. I use a sea sock, especially in Winter, to provide that extra margin of safety. I've never felt less secure in a SOF than in a Woodstrip during the winter. A little colder perhaps !
