Material: apt. pool and missing the roll for the 3 time!!

Last night I was practicing my roll and missed 3 times. On the third try my bow slammed into the side of the pool. My Night Heron used to come to a 1/8-inch point. Now it ends in a 1/4-inch point. I am leaving for an island crossing tomorrow. Should I epoxy the end or just varnish (Interthane Plus) it after sanding round again?
