Rick A. and Chip S. asked how the canoe was coming, so I guess I shouldn't hide any longer. I keep meaning to post some photos but can't seem to get it done. I'll try to get on that.

Basically the boat is filleted and the wires removed and I'm having trouble getting back to it. I need to do a final sanding on those fillets (there are some nasty sharp points here and there) and then lay down the fiberglass tape on the seams and be done with the inside.

Don't know why I'm taking such a long hiatis. Maybe because it "feels" like it's done since it's in it's actual shape and not held together by wires any longer. Or maybe because I'm intimidated by what lies ahead - fiberglassing and detailing. The colder weather has been a barrier too as the workshop is our unheated garage. Another factor is that we have many, many trees on our lot and it's leaf raking season. Any large chunks of time with nice weather tend to get eaten up by raking. And finally, I'm a tax accountant and this is my breather time before the craziness of tax season begins. It's hard to tackle big stuff right now. I'm in a chill and relax mode.

So the next step is taping those inside seams. I think I probably don't feel like I know what I'm doing, which always makes me slow to a crawl, if not a stop. I need to think through the process and see what my questions are and throw them out there for you helpful and knowledgeable folks to help me out with.

It's nice to know you are out there supporting me and even giving me a nudge now and then. I think I'm needing some nudging these days.
