Rick,
Feathercraft uses a one piece fiberglass coaming. The skin attaches by sliding into a groove that is on the inside edge of the coaming. My most recent kayaks use a separate coaming baseplate that the skin snaps onto. The coaming bolts to the baseplate with machine screws at the front and rear of the coaming. The link below shows the front of the coaming and provides some detail.
