I made the cockpit opening of this Puts Walrus , strip built, using the same mold from the Spring Run. So I could be sure the skirt would fit. I then made the deck height just enough to fit my feet in.

Lucky for me the coaming is big enough to get my knees between the thigh braces, because otherwise I would be able to get into the boat. It isnt in the water yet, as Ive other things to do for awhile. And it may yet turn out to be too tight. If so, I'll have to chop out a good portion of the fordeck, and re-do it with some fat thigh room inside.

So, when placing the front coaming height, size it to thigh comfort not foot height. And be sure you can actually get into the boat :)
