I ran into a little thingy when cutting out my deck plates! On scarfing my 2 2'x8' panels together plus 1 2'x3' I noticed I had cut the scarf backwards on the last panel! No problem, I wanted to start putting the other side up on the deck anyway about the 3rd panel, so I just glued it anyway. This made 2 full length panels right side up and the last 3' section down. I would cut deck plates 1 and 2 with the dark side up to hit on the bow.

Here is the rub, the plans call for flipping the 2 panels end for end to get the mirror image, but to keep the downside to the bow I would have to flip side for side. Well, there is a reason Mr. Vaclav shows it to flip end for end, will not fit the other way. I believe, had I known it was going to be so close, I could have squeezed it in, but you must cut panel 1 & 2 at once to keep the allignment and this is why there is not enough room. I fixed it by butt glueing a 1 1/2" wide piece to the stern end of plate 2.
