My friend (with a Powermatic 66 3hp) and I (Delta 2 hp) joke around about how far we can imbed our kickbacks into concrete. In a moment of seriousness a few years ago, though, he suggested I start wearing safety glasses when sawing on the beast. ( I was a follower of the stand to the side and squint school). I listened to him.

A few minutes ago, while ripping some walnut cabinet faces, thinking about the deck patterns on the next 'yak, a 1.5"x.75"x.75" piece departed the board unexpectedly and was drawn as if by magnet at very high rate of speed to my left eye, which happily had a safety glass in front of it.

Shut down the shop for the evening, got onto my favorite website, and am planning on buying some suds for a friend. Binocular vision is kinda nice.
