There was a photo of a transport for kayaks that used wheels with a plastic pipe epoxied through the bow of the boat, I think this was Chips design?

I would like to propose something for all you engineer types to muddle over.
Could one take the axles, put one of those 1in super magnets from Lee Valley on the end of a short version. Then place the appropriate opposite magnet in the hull sides of the kayak, afix a strap between the two axels and use the magents to hold the rig in place?
Would there be too much torque on the axles, breaking them loose from the magnet in the hull?

Just hate to drill a hole in the hull.
