I have built a severn, 14' S & G compound bend boat. I am contemplating not putting a hatch cover on the front as the compartment is so small and the deck looks so nice. My plan is to put a simple plug of some sort onto the bulk head to all access for drying purposes only. It seems that if a cork or plug is installed from the cockpit side that when the boat is overturned that the plug will be forced into the hole tightening it up and thus the plg apparatus does not have to be to fancy. Does anyone see a problem with this logic?
