Congratulations! The storm roll is to Greenlanders, what a C-to-C is for whitewater kayakers. You will find it very useful.

For those lurking, the "storm roll" (no, not the storm roll described by Derek Hutchinson in "Eskimo Rolling"), is a low-brace roll (your palm faces down and you use the non-powerface side of your paddle), performed over your foredeck, using a strong forward snap, so that you end up kissing the deck. Your inboard hand/paddle blade scrapes and pivots on the hull, and the paddle/hull contact point provides a fulcrum.

This roll is highly esteemed among many of the Greenlanders that I met. It leaves you in a very strong, stable finishing position, perfect for continuing the "battle". For those who need more details, this roll is shown in "Rolling with Maligiaq".
