: Hello everyone,
: Due to circumstances I'm too embarassed to disclose, I need to find a way to
: bead and cove 1/5" thick cedar strips for kayak building. I think I
: could use a standard 3/16" diameter full radius bull nose router bit
: to form the beads, but I can't seem to find any corresponding bits to make
: the coves. Any ideas that prevent me from having to special order the very
: expensive bit would be most welcome!! Thanks!

There have been a few folks here that have used the 1/4" B & C bits on 3/15" thick material. Not a problem really, as you just set the bottom of the cutting edge just a tad below the top of the router table and run them. Practice with a few small strips big enough to go on the table. You just lose the top and bottom edge of the strip, but they will still rotate together and fit together just fine. Try some sample pieces first anyway.
