I think it is just a thin kerf small circular saw blade, I think the diameter is about 3.5", the kerf must be about 3/32", about the same as the middle ply of your 4 mm plywood. It was set up to do spline joints on 4mm plywood. The spline is also plywood, ultra-thin though.

The setup is not mine, Tom Jordan, the one that had the Coho with a recessed cockpit at R2K2 did it.
