Hi Ian,

I think you have the linear meters of 13mm and 20mm strips transposed. If you approximate the kayak as a cylinder 19 feet long and a circumference of about 4 feet, you would need about 64 strips that are 3/4" wide, which gives about about 1200 linear feet of strips, or about 400 meters. Remember, the strips are only about 6mm thick (1/4 inch), so it isn't as bad as it 1st appears. You also probably have a 10-15% allownace for waste in that calculation.
