Here are some more particulars.

My husband is a professional woodworker and really good when it comes to building things. He's built several boats including SOFs and a Night Heron. He's in Qajaq USA and obviously thinks that rolling is important, so it would be nice to have a boat that rolls pretty easily. I'm pretty sure I don't want a SOF, that's why I posted on this forum. I've paddled a few boats a few times, and mostly they've seemed a lot alike, but I've only paddled them on small lakes. The only ones I remember clearly were a Wilderness Systems that seemed to go through the water nicely, but I banged my hands on the high deck. I also paddled an Anas Acuta and it was HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY and zig-zagged a bit when I paddled, so I remember that because it was really frustrating. We'll be paddling the Great Lakes, and my husband would like to be proficient in rough water, but I'm not sure I want to be. Even so, the Great Lakes are rarely small-lake calm on even a good day.
