Dave, I was just relaying what I read in Nick's book "The Strip-built Sea Kayak" where he mentions the CLA should be right at or behind the LCB..

: What is your CLA-LCB rule of thumb?

: To trim for weathercocking the center of effort (CE) (lateral center of area
: above the waterline) needs be over, or a little in front of, the lateral
: center of area (LCA) (below the waterline).
