Matts feedback is one I'd listen to if you expect on paddling in significant wind/waves. The Feathercraft II rudder is an old design without the strongest blade support for rough use. The ST has a fair amount of rocker and the bottom of the Feathercraft rudder doesn't extend much beyond the low point of the hull, it's something you'll notice immediately in paddling with 2'+ waves

I'd suggest looking at a Seaward or equivalent style of rudder where the blade descends into a slot if you anticipate high winds and waves.
