I've been using this cheap, effective, Harbor Freight polisher for awhile. It works just fine. I have an aftermarket flexible pad for it that I got from a surfboard shaping site. The pad takes 7-inch sticky-back discs and cost about the same as the machine, but for fifty bucks, you're there. YMMV.
