Duckworks (www. ) just featured the Eureka S&G canoe design by Michael Storer. Here is the URL to the description of this canoe:

If is only 15 1/2 feet long, which I think is at least 3 feet to short for what you want--but it looks like this should be a simple design to stretch. to a more-desirable length.

To do this yourself: If you are working with full-sized patterns you would cut them into 6 pieces, space the pieces and redraw the lines. Make your first cut at the center of the boat, then make additional cuts 2 feet from the center and 4 feet from the center. This way you keep the bow an=d stern shape as designed and add the extra length along the boat. Insert a foot of space in the middle of the boatand 6 inches between the other pieces. That adds 3 feet to the boat.

If you are working from reduced-size pdf drawings, then you would need to respace the measurements for the width of the pieces along a longer length. For example, if the width of a given piece ws given at 1m intervals, you would want to use those points at intervals of 1.2m.

When going with a longer canoe for holding more weight, particularly where high waves might be encountered, I would like to see the sidewalls about 2 inches higher. (about 5cm) To do this, just make the sidewall pieces 5cm wider.

It is a lot of work to redraw these lines. You might as well design the boat from scratch and save the designer fees. Or, if you don't want to do the work of redrawing it, you might contact the designer and see if he can draw up some revised plans for you.

Just a thought. Have you been able to find any other plans?
