: Sketching out ideas for the deck of a Hybrid. I keep coming back to this
: design, assuming I can find some wood I like the contrast of together.
: Question is how would your run the strips?

: My first thought. start with the darker strips and just keep running off the
: shear line till I have it where I want it. Just follow the line of the
: boat till I like the width/size.

: I don't know how would be best to the other side then. I think I would need
: to lay down a couple of strips along the shear line. But I don't know what
: would be the best way or look the best to fill in the rest of the field.

: Thought I would toss this out and see what other thought.

Personally I'd run the darker strips following the sheer and the lighter ones running fore and aft. I'd think cypress for the darker strips and white cedar for the lighter ones. Both are very light weight woods.
