I think of a crossing paddle as a light weight paddle with a narrow blade design good for paddling long distances.

I stopped using feathered paddles 2-3 years ago. I never had a problem using a feathered paddle, but when I weighed the advantages and disadvanges betweeen feathered and unfeathered, unfeathered just made more sense, but I don't have time to go into all the details. This is totally just my own preference, and I don't try to push people either way. Both ways work well.

: Duane--What do you mean when you say its a "crossing" paddle? Does
: that mean it's feathered?
