Steam bent bow and stern stems *LINK* *Pic*

When building the Endeavour, there are two options for constructing the bow and stern stems -- either formed out of thickened epoxy or with laminated hardwood. I've chosen to do the hardwood stem method as I've not seen this done on a stitch and glue kayak before and I think it looks rather cool. The photo below shows the stems clamped on the molds after steaming, the link below the photo leads to more photos and descriptions of the process.

Daren Neufeld was kind enough to loan me his steamer setup for the task -- and my first ever attempt at steaming wood. I found it quite easy and a lot of fun actually. I want to bend more stuff now. :)
