Strip: Igdlorssuit Coaming Recess Question *Pic*

The deck is striped. The knee bumps were the hardest part of stripping this whole kayak. I ended up have to make butt-joints to achieve the angle that was required. Looks good though.

Now, I'm working on coaming recess and I really don't want to use individual strips to achieve the recess. I'm thinking about using super thin birch plywood. and laying that in to quickly form the recess.

What kind of glass layup do you think I'll need? Are there other quick ways to make a recess?
