I haven't checked, but I don't think a hitch would fit unless it was
dragging on the ground on such a low car. The 5' extensions are similar to
those used to carry very long rowing shells, and a 5ft span is all I'll ever
need on a car. On my truck, I mount the bars on the topper for a 6' span,
though it has a trailer hitch.

The aluminum bike rack I made for my motorcyle works well also. Looks like the
sissy bar is making a comeback :)
