Scott,

Good points, but you left out out a really important one. White water is relative to to the water level at the time you are on it, and streams and rivers with class I and II rapids will change very drasticly with varying water levels. Just as important as knowing the river you will paddle is knowing the water level the day you plan to paddle it.
