I may install a skeg like that on my Point Bennett double. With the higher paddler weight to buoyancy ratio, more weight at the ends, and higher paddling speeds (increasing bow pressure), it weathercocks and broaches more than the single. A buddy and I did "Catalina for Lunch" crossings in the double on Monday, and we were dogged by quarter seas on the crossing back. I sure wish I would've had a skeg then.
