thanks to all for your comments & suggestions. it's really shed some light on the subject. now i can definitely consider using something other than that expensive 1088 okuome pw.
rehd: your comments were great and really helped. i think the way you do. you have to back up your statements with proof.

holmes: what were you researching in the 'glades? what i was thinking of regarding the gators was that if i took a dunk near one while covered in all that nice scent from my juicy roastbeef sandwich and potato salad lunch, well..

chris: i can outdo any ten year old! seeing as how these boats all look as sleek as submarines, i plan on carrying a 5-gal bucket on board to add water and sink to "periscope" depth. then i can sneak up on some bikini-clad "target" and launch my "attack." (ahem) so, you can see how i need a very durable and waterproof craft. (let's see a ten year old top that!!)
