: So why not just build a submarine. This one has not got an enclosed cockpit,
: so it could pass for an awkward, heavy, two seat kayak with motors and
: ballast.

: The story that goes with this deals with the problems of control with a
: submerged vessel. Might be some things to consider here, wven though you
: won;t be entirely submerged. check it out at:

A great story and my kind of guys. Control paddling a flooded kayak was very difficult according to Brian, and if I remember right he was in surf, while I found my short 12 foot kayak with side floatation easy to paddle in my farm pond. So that is one of the things I am looking forward to testing in my longer and narrower kayak in a lake this spring. The tests will go something like this. 1. Swim into the flooded kayak. 2. Paddle across the lake and back 3. Stand up in the kayak. 4. Stand up and paddle the kayak. If this all goes well then test on a day with white caps. Just have fun.
