Small items (nose plug, lip balm, flares, signal mirror, signal horn, energy bar) go in my PFD pockets. A VHF radio is mounted on the left shoulder strap, A rescue hook with lanyard (I prefer the hook to a knife) is mounted on a lash tab on the left chest, with the lanyard tucked into the nearby pocket. An emergency strobe is mounted on a rear shoulder lash tab. I carry liquid refreshment in a pack I made that goes on the back of my PFD.

A bilge pump, paddle float and bilge sponge are stored in the cockpit. The pump is either mounted under the foredeck or tucked beside the right cheek plate. The sponge is beside the left cheek plate. The paddle float is carried in bungee loops on the back of the back band.

Although I don't use a day hatch much while on the water, I find them very handy for keeping my typical day gear organized close behind my back, where it has a minimal effect on the trim of the boat.

My spare paddle (a Greenland "storm" paddle) rides on the right side of the foredeck. A 3' contact tow is clipped to the foredeck rigging (I use cord and sliders, rather than bungee). My main tow rig is around my waist.

The cameras I sometimes carry are waterproof. If I'm actively taking photos, I just leave the camera sitting in my lap, with a lanyard attaching it to the boat or to my PFD. The loose fit of the Brooks akuilisaq I use instead of a spray skirt helps cradle the camera. If I'm not actively photographing, I'll store the camera well forward on the foredeck (where it doesn't interfere with paddling) or in the day hatch. I don't like to have anything loose in the cockpit.
