Thanks for all the feedback and the offers to try boats. Luckily, I have found a Coho owner only 1 hour from me that will let me try his boat. I still haven't found a Tern less than 3 hours away but I definitely will try it also. I am still a little concerned about foot room. The last kayak that I owned was years ago. It was a Perception Phoenix, a whitewater boat, which was a lot different than today's whitewater boats. At that time, I weighed 275 lbs and the Phoenix was 13 feet long and a very high volumn boat. I had plenty of room in it and could roll it with ease. However, if my memory seves me correctly it was probably deeper than 12". How about this? Comparing a Coho and Artic Tern, which appear to be very close in dimensions of the cross section at the middle of the boat, which has more foot room? In other words, comparing a hard chine boat and multichine boat with similar cross section profiles, which tends to have more foot room?

Thanks again!
