Thanks for your response!!!

This will be the first kayak that I will build. Will I need strips that are typically smaller than 3/4" or can I get by with mostly 3/4" redwood strips? Do you use 1/4" thick strips of redwood?

I like the dark look of the redwood for the hull and the light accent of the cedar for the deck. But if its going to be a much greater challenge to use the redwood, then it may not be worth it to me.

Do you have any further advice?

Thanks,

Rich
