i have no idea, but there may (most likely no big deal b/c of the volume of water or a big deal b/c of the tiny surface that the oil'll float on??)be a problem if silicone releases oils under high heat. not a good thing for bare wood, i understand. so maybe stick(hehe) w/ the epoxy or urethane or foam or other rtv methods.
