Okay, no one has brought up Epifanes, so I'll "put my oar in the water." Or, rather, paddle. I've used several top marine varnishes over the past 7 years on a boat we keep on the water in the Puget Sound 8 months of the year. My personal preference has become Epifanes. It probably qualifies as the most expensive, but you can get excellent prices on it through Hamilton Marine (www.hamiltonmarine.com). Once you are dealing with the top brands, personal preference may be the only real basis on which to pick. But Epifanes has such a strong reputation among wooden boat builders in the Northeast and the Seattle area that it needs to go on your list of top brands to consider.

: Okay, after four months it's almost done...wow I can't believe it!!
: Now it's time to buy varnish.
: I've read the many previous posts and now I'm more confused.
: So, if you please...
: What is your favorite varnish?
: What price should I expect to pay?
: And where to get it?

: Thanks folks, you've been great!
