Kayak insurance at a reasonable price

After digging around for awhile, I finally found a source for reasonably priced kayak insurance: AMICA. I insured my small fleet, a VCP Nordkapp (for $2800), a Walden Passage (for $900) and my recently completed skin-on-frame boat (for $2000). No serial number or appraisal was required on the home-built boat. The cost, with a $200 deductable per boat, is $124/year. After the annual dividend that AMICA pays, the net cost will be $99. This is a standard marine policy and you can have up to four boats on a single policy.

If you're interested, you can call 1-800-24-AMICA or contact Monica in the Bedford, NH office. Her number is 1-800-925-6422. If you need to find your local agent, you can get the info at www.amica.com

BTW, they also have great rates on car and homeowner's insurance and their service is top-notch. No, I don't work for them, I'm just a satisfied customer.
