Hi Daren

I don't think it's really neccessary to pre-soak wood if you are going to steam it. Kind of a Six of one~~ Half-dozen of the other. I usually steam for around 20 minutes ( with pre-heated steamer ) and soaking usually takes longer. I don't like soaking as it takes much longer to lose the moisture in the wood. Course... that has to do with a Glue thing. I use T.B. II
