That's no tablesaw that's a sawmill! I've seen 14" circular saws used for timber framing. Pretty scary looking. And then there's a good argument for 12" and 14" radial arm saws for adequate depth of cut of a stationary work piece. But what on earth did they use 8" of cutting depth on a table saw for? Stock that big has to be moved somehow. I can only imagine it was used for resawing panels.
