Seat placement

I've been trying to locate the seat for more or less permanent placement (intend to use velco so will have some capacity to trim) I have no idea of the design LCB, plans did not specify. I was thinking that if boat is in correct trim you should feel the boat turn at about yr hips when you lean and sweep. Does this make sense? Does anybody have any rules of thumb for what I should be looking for when I have it right? Not sure how many more times I'll swim before I'm happy, it sure keeps you on your toes when you put the coaming in the water and the seat isn't fastened to anything. Thanks for any thoughts.
