Several fly-fishing rods come with lifetime warranties for breakage, no questions asked. I'm sure they have replaced many rods that were broken by closing a car door on it, or stepping on it. But to get that kind of warranty service you have to spend a lot of money on the rod in the first place. Having built a few paddles, I think $150 is pretty cheap for a good wood paddle. For a warranty that covers breakage, you should expect to pay three times that much (or more) for a wooden paddle.
