I was in remission for 2 years...

: I'd guess your observations are accurate but splitting differences the size
: of the paddlers and height of the seats can make the difference look
: greater than it is. So what are you building these days?

Yea, I know, I know, I know -- a lot of lip service from someone who isn't building... :) Two winters ago after building my Outer Island I told myself I wouldn't build again until I moved out of my apartment and into a place with a garage or basement. But I'm getting the itch to build again. This building fever is back after a 2-year remission...

My first thought was to build a Stillwater double (similar to a CLC Mill Creek 16.5 but a little lower volume) for a couple of friends who love the outdoors and water but don't get out much.

I've also had the Cunningham/Sea Kayaker stitch-n-glue plans waiting in the wings. I do CAD work and have plotted the panels out full-scale. My first thought was to do it as a hybrid, but now I'm thinking about the possibility of doing it as a complete stripped kayak -- just because I love the look of strips so much more than mahogany panels... But if I'm going to do a full stripper, I also like Eric Schade's Oystercatcher design, too... Such decisions...

So I'm thinking my living room will become a workshop once again. :) Assuming I do build again, though, I want to set up a quick-n-dirty website to post pictures on. Have to learn how to do that one of these days,...
