Hi Dan,

I just finished joining the deck and hull on my Shearwater Baidarka. Before joining the halves I installed the footbraces, cutout the hatches, made the hatch lips, sanded the shear of the hull and deck in preparation for joining, sanded the area where the bulkheads will be installed, sanded the area where the hatch lips will be installed. The process went smoothly for me, I used slow cure epoxy so I didn't feel rushed. Do as much of the interior work as you can before joining the deck and hull, it's so easy to do things when you can reach them easily before the deck and hull are joined. These jobs are not impossible to do after joining the hull and deck, just much more of a pain in the butt.

Good luck.

Ken

: I am finished with the glassing inside and out with both the hull and deck.
: Besides cutting the hatches and installing the footbraces, are there any
: other pertinent issues/details that I should attend to?
