I have been on this board for almost a year now and the more I know about Russ the more I am amazed about this man's man. He has sent me many e-mails to help with my boat building and my trip to the BWCA and always adds a little personal philosphy in poetic prose. From these I have seen how interesting and versatile a man Russ is. Therefore I shouldn't have been surprised to hear that Russ went to New York to help in the recovery but I was. He is a special person in my book.

I am probably one of the few people on the board that remembers Pearl Harbor and what it ment being on a war footing in the States. Many things were rationed or non-existant. Top driving speed was 35 miles per hour and we dug our yards up and planted Victory Gardens. Now, in my opinion we will most likely to strike hard in the Arab world, and this could mean an endless encounter like Isreal finds itself in. That could mean the radicals could shut off the oil in Places like Saudi Arabia which would make cars almost useless and industry grind to a halt. I'm not trying to scare anyone but you have to think through what sacrafice could mean in the coming months and years, since the world changed Sept. 11. I don't think we have a choce.
