I enjoyed you site Steve and if I build the Shooting Star I will be referring to it a lot. Ken, post pictures when you can of your progress.

I like to tinker also but if I build the SS I will do it by the book. I woke up at 1:30AM thinking about the SS and I know from experience that's trouble.

When I first saw the nose of the SS I thought that might be what give it so much speed but its not the nose I remember on an ancient kayak replica that was built and tested years ago and was on TV. Does anyone know what I am talking about. This kayak had what looked like an open mouth bow that just didn't look like it should be the bow of a kayak. It was tested and found to be faster than a conventionally designed bow of a yak. The thinking was, as I remember, that the bow calmed the water before the rest of the kayak body passed from behind. Am I dreaming this or can someone add to it.
