: I've read that 1/8" wood with about 12 ounce cloth is stronger and
: lighter than our normal construction. Has anyone tried such a combination?
: Any opinions?

My standard layup uses 2 layers of 6 oz cloth in high impact areas over 1/4" strips. Using 1/8" strips and the same amount of glass will not be as strong, but it will be lighter. More layers of lighter glass will be stronger than the equivalent weight of glass built up of heavier individual layers.
