I agree with Jim. So...unless you are building a triple with a closet, stay away from eastern cedar.

I have found some nice planks of western red cedar at both Lowes and Home Depot. They have no problema with you pulling out the boards to look for the best planks.

I also found a great source for Northern White Cedar and Alaskan White Cedar in Madison, CT at a small funky specialty lumberyard. I cannot recall the name...but if you are interested drop me an email and I will find it for you. BTW...if you are looking for any specialty hardwoods for accents, try CT Hardwood in Glastonbury, CT.
