Here's a URL for Ken Rasmussen's article on cockpit modifications. Carving your own seat, and extending the front of the seat farther forward for more leg support, seem to be the usual cures for your problem. George Gronseth wrote a good article on seat and cockpit modifications in Sea Kayaker magazine several years ago that may also be useful.
