in '78 i was on a trip on the churchill river in northern saskatchewan. eight alumacraft canoes, fourteen kids, two adults. one of the canoes couldn't make the takeout before a nasty set of rapids. we patched the boat with duct tape, set and splinted the broken leg as best we could and carried on. eight more days, if memory serves.
