I've been using NRS float bags for X and they seem to be fine. They do have long tubes, with twist valves on the ends, for inflation. I think they were actually canoe floats. Don't recall the exact model, but they are brown on one side and black on the other.

There has also been some discussion on making your own here if you look back in the archives.
