I hope we can make this work. I was one that reserved late and ended up in my tent in an RV site in the upper campground with screaming kids on their bikes tearing around late into the night. That wasn't as bad as missing the gatherings that must have happened in the beach area. It was a great event and I look forward to next year. I took a look at Bowman's Bay as a suggested site to get the ferry waits out of the picture. One draw is a nice small bay for messing around and Deception Pass right around the corner. The reservations there are managed by the larger park staff located at the main campground south of the bridge. I have to admit Fort Warden is a special place. Maybe next year I'll cart my kayak and gear and walk on the ferry.......... Thanks one and all to the organizers and to all of the volunteers that made it happen.
